Creating groups — manually or from the generator

Before you can assign children to groups (Group assignment), the groups themselves have to exist. Creating one by hand takes a minute — creating several at the start of a season is faster with the generator.

  1. Admin → Groups → New group.
  2. Group alias (up to 50 characters) and Group color — used in the calendar.
  3. Pick the group session type and the therapist running it.
  4. Optionally set a max number of children (can’t go below the number already in the group).
  5. Create group. You can add children right in the same window (Add child), or later, in bulk, from Manage assignments.

For a group you no longer run, Archive it instead of deleting — it disappears from the active list, but session history stays.

When you need several groups at once (e.g. at the start of the year), you don’t create them one by one:

  1. Admin → Groups → Generate groups from session types.
  2. For each group session type, enter how many groups you want.
  3. Pick the therapist running them (the same one for every generated group) and a name template (default {symbol} grupa {iterator}, e.g. “TUS group 1”).
  4. Generate.

The generated groups are empty (no children assigned) — the therapist is already set, you fill in the children list later. This only works for session types marked as Group.

How is this different from Manage assignments? This article is about creating the groups themselves (name, color, therapist, limit). Assigning specific children to groups that already exist is a separate article — Group assignment.

What happens to sessions if I archive a group? Nothing — session history stays intact, the group just disappears from the active list.

Will the generator create groups for individual session types? No — it only works for session types marked as Group in Session types.
